The Highland coast on foot
The tour · West Highlands
Six days from glen to sea cliff with twelve travellers, a stove in every tent and a guide from Oban.
This is a walking tour for people who walk at weekends, not for mountaineers. The longest day is fourteen kilometres on a shore path and the shortest is five. A boat or a van carries the bags, so you carry water, lunch and a jacket.
The pace is unhurried on purpose. We start after breakfast, stop when the light is good and reach each night's bed with time to sit outside before dinner. Day four is half free: the cliff path early, then nothing until supper unless you want it.
What makes it is where you sleep. Canvas with a stove in Glen Etive, a cabin on the loch, the inn at Ardnamurchan and a dome under the Cuillin. Calum has walked this coast since he was a boy and plans each day around the weather that morning. Bring waterproofs and expect to use them.

“We were twelve strangers on Monday and one loud table by Wednesday. Calum knew when to talk and when to let the glen do it.”
