Her grandmother ran the bakery in Apollonia. She knows which path is open and whose table has room.
Eleni was born in Apollonia, on Sifnos, where her grandmother ran the village bakery for forty years. She studied archaeology in Athens, worked two summers on a dig on Despotiko and came home when she realised she liked the walk to the site more than the trench.
She has guided for Landfall since 2013 and leads both of our Greek tours: the walking week on Sifnos and the sailing week through the western Cyclades. She knows which paths were cleared this spring, which chapel has the key under the stone and whose kitchen is open on a Monday. She will order for the table unless you stop her. In winter she presses olives with her father and mends the stone walls along the paths we use.
