Marco was born in Cortina and has been a certified alpine guide for twenty-six years. Before Landfall he spent a decade leading climbers on the big walls of the Dolomites, then decided he preferred the people who walk between the huts and stop to look.

He joined us in 2011 and built the lakes and passes route himself, hut by hut, mostly by asking the families who run them what they wished visitors knew. He speaks Ladin with the hut keepers and switches without noticing. He carries a moka pot and a small stove in his pack and makes coffee at the top of every pass, whatever the weather. On the free afternoon he sets up a rope under the Cinque Torri for anyone who wants to try the rock.
